Elan Ballet & Pilates is a dance and fitness studio that celebrates style, artistry and life through quality dance education and fitness programs.

Our mission in dance is to provide a learning atmosphere where each child’s passion, creativity and dreams can be fulfilled. With technique and artistry, we aim to nurture our students’ love for dance and help them enjoy the learning process so they become well-rounded individuals – in mind, body and spirit.

Our mission in fitness is to help our clients build mind and body awareness so they live happy, healthy and active lives filled with optimism, confidence and energy.

We commit to providing our students and clients impeccable quality of service. As such, our faculty is made up of highly-trained ballet professionals from one of the Philippines’ premiere ballet companies and teachers of other disciplines. Our fitness instructors are also trained and certified in their own fields so we can partner with you in achieving your fitness goals.

ABOUT THE DIRECTRESS

Cathee Lee Roslovtsev is a former professional ballet dancer and a certified STOTT PILATES® instructor.

The Ballerina

She started dancing ballet at the age of 6 at Dance Arts Studio under the instruction of Josette Salang, Edward Malagkit and Julie Borromeo. At the age of 16, she became a company member of The Philippine Ballet Theatre (PBT), a resident ballet company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

As a young company member in 1989, she trained under guest teachers Lisa Macuja, Maiqui Mañosa, and Anna Villadolid-Mayr. In the same year, was chosen by Australian ballerina, Christine Walsh, to do the role of Puss N Boots from the ballet The Sleeping Beauty in the joint production of The Australian Ballet and Philippine Ballet Theatre.

Her performance as “Juliet” in the full-length ballet Romeo and Juliet choreographed by Thomas Pazik earned good reviews from ballet critics and the National Artist for Dance, the late Leonor Orosa-Gocquingco.

Other notable roles and performances with the Philippine Ballet Theatre include “Raymonda” in Raymonda by Jean Paul Comelin, “Peasant Pas De Deux” from Giselle as re-staged by Thomas Mayr, ‘Amour” from Don Quixote, “Clara” and “Sugar Plum Fairy” from The Nutcracker by Gelsey Kirkland, “The Man I Love Pas de deux” from Who Cares? by George Balanchine, “Trio” by Thomas Pazik, the lead in Gener Caringal’s Vinta, in his Prism, Darna and the Pas de Deux from Andres Bonifacio.

Cathee also danced in Serenade, Concerto Barroco by George Balanchine, Carmina Burana by David Campos-Canteros among others.

She joined the Summer Ballet Workshop of The National Ballet School of Canada in Toronto in the summer of 1992. She also danced with Philippine Ballet Theatre in Singapore, Taipei, Japan, Morocco, Spain, Canada and United States of America.

She also played roles in various Children’s Theater Productions of Repertory Philippines such as the dancing Snow White in Snow White, the Silver Rose in Beauty and the Beast, the ballerina in A Christmas Carol, Iris the ballerina in FAME.

She also did lead ballerina roles and appeared in advertisements of various brands.

Cathee completed the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet (ACB) teacher’s seminars from Pre-Primary to Level 4 in 2016.

The Pilates Instructor

Cathee has been teaching the STOTT PILATES® method since 2004 and is fully-certified in mat, reformer, cadillac, chairs and barrels (CCB).

She has also taken courses in Injuries and Special Population, Pre and Post Natal Care, Advanced Mat, Athletic Conditioning with Equipment, Jumpboard Interval Training, Circuit Training, HALO Foundations to Integrated Bodyweight Training, CORE Dynamic Resistance Training with Tubing, Flexion Free and various workshops using small equipment. She is also certified in Redcord Active.
